After enjoying a breakout season with FC AP Brera Strumica in the Macedonian First Football League, the 20-year-old Martin Gjorgievski is in high demand with more than a few European clubs in the race to sign the talented midfielder.

RG exclusively understands from sources, FC Dundee are in advanced talks to sign the Macedonian U21 international from the Strumica-based club and the player is open to the idea of moving to Scotland, if a deal can be agreed between the clubs.

"There have been direct negotiations between the clubs over the past week and Martin Gjorgievski is very interested in joining FC Dundee, with more talks expected to take place over the coming days to hopefully reach a position conclusion," says one of the sources.

Furthermore, RG understands a broad agreement on the transfer fee is close to being reached, but a sticking point in the talks is whether the payment will be spread in instalments over the upcoming years or be paid immediately, while a sell-on clause is considered non-negotiable and set to be part of any deal. With FC AP Brera's captain on an expiring contract until 2026 in Strumica, and prioritizing a move to Dens Park ahead of the other interested club, such as RKS Raków Częstochowa from Poland, personal terms are not expected to be an issue.

If a deal is struck as expected with all parties keen on a swift conclusion, Martin Gjorgievski will become the fifth Macedonian player to play in the Scottish Premiership since Bojan Miovski first joined Aberdeen back in 2022, and subsequently, opened the door for Davor Zdravkovski, David Babunski, and Kristijan Trapanovski to play in the Scottish top-tier since then.

Despite being only 20 years old, Martin Gjorgievski is a fairly experienced player for his age, ramping up over 80 appearances in the Macedonian top-tier and also, the Ohrid-born midfielder captained both FC AP Brera Strumica's senior as well as youth team and the Macedonian youth national teams. In 2024/25, the tenacious midfielder, who is capable of playing in any of the midfielder roles but is at his best when playing as a No. 10, recorded his career-best season by scoring 11 goals and notching eight assists across all competitions.

Finally, if Martin Gjorgievski ends up at Dens Park, it will represent a significant coup by FC Dundee for a highly regarded young player in Europe, who was extremely close to joining SLB Benfica back in 2020 and is earmarked as one of the most talented players in his country. He is also expected to play for the senior national team in the near future.
