PORTLAND, OR
Oregon’s state-run sports betting system delivered a solid performance in May 2025, generating just over $9.1 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR), a 22.8% increase year-over-year, despite no significant sports calendar boosts.

All bets were processed through Scoreboard, the state’s single-operator sportsbook run by DraftKings in partnership with the Oregon Lottery.

  • Operator: DraftKings (via Oregon Lottery)

Responsible Gaming Funding

The Oregon Lottery channels a portion of all betting proceeds into state programs for education, economic development, and problem gambling services. The increase in revenue for May is expected to enhance allocations to the Oregon Health Authority, which oversees responsible gambling outreach and treatment.

Key Takeaways

  • Oregon’s handle is steady, but revenue growth is outpacing it
  • The 11.55% hold rate is one of the highest in the U.S. this month
  • Year-over-year tax gains help fund statewide health and education programs
